This day turned out to be one of my favorite flying days.  We didn't want to do the fishing or bear viewing trips offered here, and the weather was not too bad, so I wanted to see some glaciers.  No other planes wanted to go out flying, so I took the family and headed out to the mountains for a flight.  Even the far end of the area where I would go, is only 15-20 minutes away, so we headed up the mountain range and we flew down a bunch of great glaciers.  They say "Never fly UP a glacier" because you can easily not have the performance to outclimb the terrain.  That's true, but by coming in higher, we were able to fly to the top of the glacier and then fly down it at 30-50' and get some amazing flying in.

As we flew along, we also saw a black bear on a mountainside, and checked him out a bit.  Then after seeing another even bigger glacier, it was back to the airport where I met one of the other guys on our trip and decided to do the flight all over again with him.  He flies a Cirrus SR22 and thought the RV-10 was a very great airplane.
