I wasn't able to get the EIU working yesterday. Also I was not able to tune the NAV/Coms from the MFD (co-pilot system). MArk |
@ Op tech provided an excellent clue re the EIU, he said that he had a previous customer that had shorted the connecting wire |
to the shield and that caused him the same problem. Upon closer examination, by bending back the wire that's exactly what I |
had done also, When cutting back the shield on the single conductor it's easy to cut through the wire, and that's where the short |
was occurring. On the tuning of the radios. Mark said that it should be working theough the 'Cross talk' RS 232 interface. I |
queried him about where in the documentation this interface was described, and low and behold they've been in porduction for 4 |
years and have gone through nearly 20 revisions of the implementation manual, and I was the 1st one to point out that this was |
missing. Got the info from him, involved setting up another RS232 port for crosstalk. I had to combine/share the ADC and |
autopilot on a single port to free one up. Then make the harness and add it to the frey, With both of the 2 changes |
accomplished, these 2 issues are history. OP tech support has been outstanding. I got response to one e-mail I sent off @ 6pm |
@ 10:45 the same night. don't they ever sleep? |
