This entry is a combo of Mon, tues and Today as the week so far has been bits and pieces with most of it occuring during the |
evenings. The days are spent w/ Dad in the Hosp (4x bypass and a valve replacement), he's doing well and got moved to rehab |
today. Wiring this panel is tedious work and vies for one of my least favorite things to do. I'm learning new skills at every session. |
I may go back and redo some of the connections where I've learned some new techniques. Aero-Electric.com has some good |
examples for how to splice wires, how to daisel chain shields etc. I wish I'd referred to it earlier and I'd have a cleaner set of |
connections, The D Sub pin's are the easiest part, although you have to be careful. (I'll get the multimeter and perform continuity |
checks on each path before putting the power to anything). But to ease maintenance and to facuilitate the final install into the |
panel, I've made some connections using Molex connectors. Additionally the second Op Tech panel get's a parallel set of |
connections, so each radio, ADC, AHRS, etc. connections get's pigtailed to provide 2 pathe in/out of it. The Op Tech install |
manual is great, the illustrations are very clear and pretty much a matter of connecting the dots. the Garmin manuals are mixed |
depending upon whether its the old Apollo units or not. The audio panel has a TON of connections!!!! |
