It's still Hot (106), but I've got to get on with this panel installation. Today, I did the final install of the panel attach brackets |
(i.e.The old instrument panel) and all of the standoffs. I also cut out and reinforced an opening in the sub-panel suffucuent to |
allow for clearance for the SL30 & SL40. Cut it out with the nibbler I picked up @ OSH, then filled to final size, This is a sort of a |
test for cutting out the primary instrument panel cutouts. Next up was figuring where to put all of the sundry avionics/electrical |
components which need to be mounted in close proximity to the primary instruments. I will still need to cut some round holes in |
the sub-panel to allow for engine probes etc. but this is a good start. I picked up from another builder that leaving the Upper Fwd |
Fuse un-riveted would allow for added flexibility, and Boy am I happy I did, I'm going to try and get as much of this panel installed |
before final riveting this section (and the canopy) |
