Sanded the black cabosil/epoxy mixture I applied flush with the fineline tape. I'm not sure it's 100% effective, as when looking |
through the windscreen from inside I can see light at the boundaries where the 'black' is very thin, but at least it should help |
darken everything, and after primer and paint are applied I think it will be fairly 'black'. I pulled off the fineline tape, as it had |
gotten chewed up in a couple of places while sanding and applied 3 layers of new tape. After I get the finshcoat on, I'll feather |
the edges by pulling off 1 layer of tape at a time and then hand feathering it in until I get to the last layer. I thought I would be able |
to go directly to the METAL GLAZE, but when I held up my 8" radius template (.032") I discovered that the gap at the widest part |
was MUCH more than 1/16" . so I need to build the area up before going to the metal glaze. I used SuperFil and applied it along |
the bottom of the windscreen, and then used the 8" radius template to screed/contour the surface. While it's not ready for final |
sanding after this as there are places where the SuperFill had some surface voids. It's better, I may come back out later after the |
Superfil has partially hardened and trowl some more into the remaining low spots. When it cures overnight it should be ready for |
Metal Glaze and final sanding tomorrow. |
