Today marks another milestone - 2000 hours logged on the project! Now the question is how many more to go????????? |
finished of priming and sanding the cabn cover today. When doing the windscreen I found I had a high spot on the right side of |
the fairing which needed some sanding, I also had a low spot on the aft right top of the cabin cover which also reqiored some |
filling and sanding. After those were done. I rolled on anothe coat of primer to the top and to the bottom of the windscreen, and |
sanded everything w/ 150 and then 320 grit. I pulled the fineline tapes of and the window protection. I looks a lot better without |
the disty and dirty window coverings. the edges of the window where the fineline tape was need to be sanded as they are a little |
high due to 2 layers of tape being used on most of the windows. I'm going to leave that for the painters to do, because sanding it |
removes some of the smooth prime and reveals either the filler or the fiberglass and it looks ugly. Also They will have to shoot a |
coat of primer and sand it before shooting the paint so might just as well do ti all together. I wiped the entire exterior down with |
wet paper towels to get the dust off the outside, and then began to vacum the dust out of the interior. A duststorm blew in from |
the east and I had to put everything back in the garage. but I took some 320 grit and a scotchbrite pad to Right side and cleaned |
up some of the 'drips' that found their way onto the fuse skin during the priming. ----looks better. |
