Began Preparing the Cabin cover and windows & doors for paint. Sanded all of the joints/seams around all of the 4 cabin/door |
windows, I wanted to makes sure that what ever fillmaterial I used bonded to the glass and not to the Smooth Prime. This is |
probably the least fun portion of the whole project, It takes a long time, it's dirty and there's a lot of work before you see any |
progress/benefit. I queried the Matronics list for suggestions on how to treat the seam between the cabin cover and the fuse |
skins. didn't get any responses, I don't know if this area is also prone to cracking like the wiindows or not. since I haven't heard |
of any incidents I suspect not, also the significant number of rivets along the seams probably also aids in eliminating cracks. |
Nonetheless, I applied a micro/cabosil mix to the perimiter of the door windows, as I'm definately going to add fiberglas around |
these seams, For the Cabin windows and rivet seams/joints I used a Flox/cabosil and micro mix, mostly flox. I reasoned that if I |
decide not to add fiberglass to these seams that the flox would mimic the glass better than micro. I'll definately add glass tapes |
around the windows, but I'm still wondering about the fuse/cabin seams. |
