Several items this week, I retreived my upper cowl from the painter who was repairing and painting it after it was damaged. And |
cleaned (sanded) out the intake ring keys. I mounted the oil filler door. While the plugs were out for the mag SB, I repositioned |
the prop spinner, using a homemade pointer guage (Mickey noticed it was 1/8" out of center). I got the mags back from Quality |
Aero , with the updates for the SB's. Larry Schneider (A&P), helped me reinstall them and time them. Before reinstalling the |
center console, I wanted to get the carpets fabricated and installed, I found some outdoor carpet I like @ HD. I also found some |
edge trim at a fabric liquidater. I tried sewing a sample on Judy's husquavarna sewing machine to see if it would sew the carpet |
with the edge binding and IT WORKED !. So I made patterns for the carpet areas , including side panels that go up the side of |
the wheel wells, I cut out the carpet, and then took it all home and began sewing (binding the edges with the trim tape. They |
turned out pretty good, and I saved a couple hundred bucks. I bought a 25' roll of Velcro, and began installing the carpet pieces. |
I've got it all done except for the side pieces in rear pass footwells (I need to install the front seatbelts 1st). and the baggage |
