I finished up filling and sanding the left fuse/cowl intersection for a flush fit. Judy helped me drop the cowl, and I took off the duct |
tape, I'll need to 'true-up the edge on the fuse skins so that there is no 'ridge of filler left from the squeegee of filler between the |
gap. I also moved the Schrader valve over to the other wing and repeated the fuel tank leak test on the Left wing, thankfully it's |
still holding! Then I decided it's time to finally get Van's SB on the Vert Stab doubler complete. This really went fairly fast and |
exactly per the plans. the next major effort is to finish up the empenage and empenage fairings. So I began tonight by filling and |
sanding the fairing on the top of the vertical stab. I could have left this for the painter, but since I've got the time, I might as well |
do it myself and save a few bucks. I'm debating on whether or not to fill ALL of the rivets on the Vert. Scott Schmidt did this to his |
-10, and his plane is a beauty! since this was the 1st part I made my riveting skills were weak and it shows, now that I pick up |
that part after 2 1/2 years! |
