Finishe up mounting the O2 bottle today. Cut a piece of .090" (it's all I had available). so that the inboard edge was flush with the |
inboard angle, and the outboard edge was aprox 1 1/4" inboard of the outside skin. I then removed the angle from the inboard |
support and match drilled it #19 to the base. I installed #8 nutplates on the angle and countersunk the top of the base. I |
remounted it into the fuse, with the angle for the outboard support clecoed aprox in place. With the base screwed to the inboard |
supports. I moved the outboard angle until it was flush with the outboard support. then removed the base and match drilled #19 |
the outboard angle and base. intalled #8 nutplated on the angle and countersunk the base for #8 screws. I fabbed some |
supports out of alum angle and flatstock to be riveted to the J channel to provide the vertical support. The lower support was |
made with 3/4" angle the upper used 1 1/2" because the fuse sides are not perpendicuar to the base. After the vertical support |
brackets were fabbed I temp attached then to the bottle and set the bottle in place on the base, and marked each vertical |
support bracket where it contacted its respective J channel. removed everything , primed the vertical supports and then match |
drilled #30 them to the J channel and used LP4's to secure them in place. Primed the base and w/ judy's help riveted the |
supports to the botom of the fuse. Installed the base using 6 #8 screws and then secured the clamps for the vertical support! |
