It hasn't cooled yet, but I'm frustrated to the point of being willing to brave the heat in the garage. Today's task was to rearrange |
some items on the sub-panel to make room for the WAAS GPS and XM Weather recvr. I began by removing one of the battery |
buss fuse blocks. I really only have need for 1 circuit to power the clock directly from the battery so I removed one 6 fuse block. I |
relocated the Alt encoderer to the space that was cleared (under the other batt bus). Yesterday, I planned to pitot/static layout. |
The Shadin ADC is plumbed with #2 AN fittings!!! So I made a trip to Aerozona and came up with a hose that I made that will |
couple the ADC to the rest of the static/pitot tubing. I drilled off the alum angle that reinforced the opening in the center stack for |
the SL 30&40. I needed to make room for the harness attached to the side of the radios. So I enlarged the opening 1 1/2 " in |
width and 1/4" in height and reattached alum anlge to stiffen it. Some grey primer and we're back in business. The XM Weather |
receiver gets mounted to the reverse side of the sub-panel on 3/4" standoffs to allow for the screwheads for the ADC mount. The |
JPI EUI is already mounted on the reverse side, but it needed to be moved outboard 3/4" and put on standoffs. The Freeflight |
GPS gets mounted on the cabin side of the sub-panel opposite of the EIU. It also gets mounted on 3/4" standoffs. when testing |
this box got pretty warm/hot so hopefully the airspace will assist in cooling. |
