I reopened up the center tunnel, to check on som efuel pump electric lines that were routed up at the forward portion. This item |
showed up in a Matronics e-mail, and I wanted to verify that there was no possibility of chaffing, I rearranged the electrical lines |
and secured them w/ tie wraps in such a way to ensure no future chaffing. I ALSO found that there was some interferrence with |
the brake lines that extend up from the tunnel in that same location and with the tunnel cover. I modified the tunner cover |
(opened it up some what) and slightly rebent the brake lines to mesure no interferrence. While rechecking everything in the |
tunnel, I noticed a mark/kink/ in the fule line from the right tank to the Andair fuel valve. It's not too big, but with my prior history |
of fuel line issues, it concerned me, I sent pics To John Cox, and had another builder on the field look at the situation, and the |
concensus was that the line should be replaced. So....... I've got to tackle that yer one more time!!!! The other reason to open up |
the tunnel was to check the routing of the @" scat tube between the fuel supply lines (to Andair valve). I was able to get the scat |
tube routed between the lines, but it's too tight a fit. I bought some stryofoam and began to fabricate some fiberglass reducing |
couplings which will take the 2" scat down to 1" and then I'll wrap the fule lines in foam insulation to protect tem from any heat |
and chaffing. Hopefully when this is all done I can close up the tunnel for the 'lastl time and mount the center console. |
