Combo update for yesterday and today. Finished painting the side panels, began to install but found that when I placed them |
under the halogen lights to dry, the fiberglass had bent.... so I needed to restore the proper set to each panel, and did so by |
reheating with th Halogen lights and then lettting them cool in the finished position. I also needed some finish washers & domed |
#8 SS screws for the upper 2 screws on each side. I picked those up today @ ACE, and finished the installation. When I |
installed the EFIS's I found that I had an interferranc eproblem with the stickes hitting the knobs on the pilot side. I wrestled with |
the thoughts o having to unwire the control sticks and rebend them. BUT... I found that I had More than enough travel per the |
plans, so I thought about a control stop to limit the forward (down) elevator. I ended up making a stop from some 3/4" 2024 |
angle, and used one of the control horn bearing bolts to anchor it. Some trial and error, and I was able to get it to within 1/4" of |
the knobs, while still providing the full 25 degreed down elevator per the plans. Yesterday I also applied some non skid self |
adhesive to the forward portion of the seat mounting platform. this will allow for folks to step here when getting in and out of the |
a/c. I also reworked the latch pins for the co-pilot door. It was extremely hard to close. I left it closed all night and today, when I |
tried it I found that ater the rubberseal had compressed overnight, The door latch mechanism worked easier. |
