I got out to the hangar for a couple of hours today. Continuing to work on the forward cockpit closeout panel. I trued up the |
cardboard template, and then transferred that to a piece of .020" 2024. I farnicated an alum 'wedge' out of scrap .020 found |
someone on the airport that had a metal brake I was able to use, and then figured out how to rivet the wedge to the fiberglass |
and the aluminum sheet. This was the only way I could think of to make the transition between the fiberglass part and the sheet. |
After I've got th epanel secured to the fuse, I'll countour this wedge with some filler, and then paint the panel with interior paint to |
match the rest of the interior panels. After they are installed I'll have some upholstery panels w/ pockets made an will velco those |
to the close-out panel. Monday, I've got some meetings, so will have limited time @ the hangar. But I should be able to finish up |
this panel and fabricate the other side Tues/Wed. Doing this now, with easier access will make it a LOT easier than after the |
wings are on (Hopefully next week) !!!l |
