Yesterday and today I finished up bleeding the brakes. My 1st attempt was an all day afair and I still had bubbles in the plastic |

lines. Yesterday I stopped in to see Jerry and Mickey, and Jerry pulled out this pressurized brake bleeder that he machined and |
|
welded himself! The fitting from the bleeder fits secrurely right on the bleed valve from the brake. But 1st I secured the Bonaco |
|
lines to the landing gear with tape. I seriously thought about using adel clamps, but I was concerned that they would make the |
|
line interfere with the gear legs. So I ended up with the tape again. I connected the overflow tube to the top of the brake reservior |
|
with a fitting from Ace Hdware, and safetywired a piece of 1/4 tube to it, Stuck the other end in a bottle taped to the leg of the |
|
stool, I pressurised the bleeder with 5-15 psi from the compressor, then filled it with 5606 and hooked it up to the left brake. I |
|
opened the valve and watched the overflow tube until it ran clear. I closed the valve, and then pumped both brakes to try and |
|
work out any air trapped in the valves. and then opened the valve again. Some minor bubbles appeared but not much. Repeated |
|
the process on the right side with same results. After removing the bleeder, I worked both sets of brakes several time to again |
|
get any air in the cylinders to move and then let everything sit over night. Today I went back out and hooked it all back up an re |
|
did the process to see it any bubbles might have settled in/formed during the night. Only got some very small minor bubbles. |

Tested both brakes by sitting in cockpit and applying pressure, they seem to be good to go. |
