With the Panel silkscreened and labled, I can complete the installation of all of the control cables from the panel to the |
engine/firewall. 1st up was the heater cables. I had been dreading this beacuse if the difficulty I had initially with getting the adel |
clamps doubled with the hose. But the tricks learned wit hthe safety wire made it a much easier/doable item. 1st I had to mount |
the three cables to the subpanel paying attention to getting the right cable in the right place. then I temporarily remounted part of |
the instrument panel in order to get the length/distance from it to the firewall accurate. After that I installed Adel clamps on the |
engine side of the firewall to hold the cable the right distance, and then routed each cable. Measured it and then cut it to full |
length using the Dremel and then cut the wwrapped wire shield back the appropriate amount. I was worried i'd nick the control |
wire/cable, but didn't. Got both sides hooked up. I need to order a cable end swivel from ACS to finish the parking brake, So |
moved on the the engine controls. I had left a firewall passthrough fixture with 3 swivel ball grommets clecoed in place, thinking it |
would be easier to mount the cables, but I was wrong and after mounting the 3 engine controls to their subpanel, I set the in |
place in the panel for distance and then prp rivited the fixture in place with RTV spread to seal it. I got the mixture cable eyeball |
reinstalled before calling it a night.y |
