More plenum work, After the initial layup for the fuel purge valve popout cured, i added 3 more layup from inside of the cowl. |
Because of the decision to use Van's baffling I had to cut the left rear of the plenum behind the #6 cyl. I needed to rebuild the |
fiberglass flange in that area and also needed to extend the lower portion of the plenum that fits under the left upper motor |
mount. I fashioned some aluminum from the 'bundle' and clamped it in place while laying on several 2" strips of glass cut on the |
bias. the strips were of varying lenght. When that cured, i sanded it and then test fit it. there was still quite a gap at the back of |
the plenum, so I fashioned a 'dam' from some duct tape, and mixed up some flox and trowled that into the area. Good thing |
about this heat is that things kick off really quick so I can get several applications done within the same day. I got that area very |
close. The last remaining areas in the rear are: directly behind the Top of the # 6 cyl. and.. the top of the plenum between the |
two upper motor mounts. Mixed up more flox and micro, trowled it on and left it to set up overnight. I physically installed the EGT |
probes on the exhaust. Each probe is exactly 2" from the exhaust flange. |
