Still working on getting the bottom cowl to match/mate to the upper cowl. The right side of the lower cowl is trimmed too close |
and there isn't ANY extra material to allow for trimming it to get it level with the upper cowl. I spoke with Gary Foster who also |
had the same problem and was able to make it work, I think the key is to get the bottom rear of the cowl mounted as close and |
tight to the fuse as possible and That might just provide barely enought room. I'll know more in a day or two. I also spoke to Will, |
who is aware of the problem, and affered to make and ship a replacement lower cowl if I need it. Apparently when he made the |
mode a portion of the mold which marks the trim lines slipped between the time he did the lay-ups and curing. He is going to fix |
the mold and remedy the problem for subsequent Cold Air Induction Cowls. This lower cowl fitting is my least fun task to date! |
the problem is that it's all so 'wobbley' and holding it in the exact same place for repeatable test fitting and trimming is VERY |
difficult. Once you can get one end trimmed and anchored/stable it makes the remaining steps/tasks a but easier. I've been |
through 1 1/2 roles of duct tape so far and just piicked up a couple more this pm. |
