Finished up the landing gear by installing the brakes on the wheels and then installing the 1/4" brake line between the fuse |
bottom side and the brakes. I found that it was much easier to bend the alum brake line, by: 1. 1st attaching it to the fuse fitting |
and getting the joggle between it and the gear leg bent, then measure down the appripriate amount and put a gradual 90 degree |
bend in the lower portion of the line. then temporarilly tape the line to the gear leg with some friction tape, and then just use your |
hands to bend the line around the gear leg to match the shape depicted in the plans manual. Mark where to cut and flare the end |
that connects to the disc brake, then take the assembly off, cut , debur and flare the end (after slipping on the fitting of course), |
clean the gear legs w/ solvent. wrap friction tape around the gear legs in 5 different spaces, 2-3 turns, leaving a long tail to |
complete the wraping after the line is connected. Connect the line to the fuse fitting, connect the line to the disc brake, then |
complete wrapping the friction tape around the line and the gear leg. |
