Popped the Left door off the Cabin top and began the process of trimming it. The plans say to trim to 1/8" off of the scribe lines. |
Which I did. However for 80% of my doors the scribes lines are still not enough. This is a VERY time consuming task. So far I've |
had the Left door on and off the Fuse about 20 times and I'm only about 1/2 the way to getting it initially fit. Talking to Gary |
Foster, I'm going to copy what he did, and that was after his initiall trimming/fitting of the doors and hard mounting the doors to |
the cabin, he taped the door edges, closed the doors on the cabin and then took a mixture of flox and forced it in between the |
door and the cabin top. He let it cure and then popped the doors and he's got an extremely close fit. It's also an opportunity to fix |
any height differences between the cabin top and the doors. It will add more time, but this is something that will make a major |
difference in the appearance of the plane. He also gave me an idea for a jig to make so as to be able to use the dremel tool to |
make the 45 degree bevel on the edge of the doors. (I'm still working on that.). Looks like all day tomorrow and possibly Thurs to |
get both doors initially fit, Then on to mounting them. |
