Rather than taking the Cabin top off and then putting/clecoing it back on. I decided to jump ahead and work on the doors. I need |
to get the door hinges attached to the Cabin top before installing the overhead. Also reportedly there is quite a bit of time |
involved in installing the doors. Based upon today's time just to trim the 4 door shells, I can believe it. Used the cutoff wheel and |
the die grinder, Made a LOT of dust!! Had one Oops, in that I cut off the aft tab on one of the interior door shells. This tab is used |
to locate the door on the fuse while curing, but I believe that once the shell is mated to the outer shell, that I can use (reinforced) |
that tab for accuracy and location. There are a lot of scribe lines that need to be drawn, and those on the outside of the door |
shells need to be laid out by hand. Sanded all edges to get a relatively straight edge to work with. The next weeks/months high |
level plan is. 1, finish Cabin top & Overhead. 2. Finish Doors 3. Install landing Gear. 4. install gear leg fairings 5. Mount engine |
.......Talked to Allen today they should finish with the engine next week some time, so it looks like it will sit for a but of time before |
getting hung. Also talked to Aero Composites and the prop should be ready late Nov. |
