I've put off installing the windows as long as I can. I received some peelable window covering from ACS. I prepped the edges of |
both rear windows by sanding w/ 100 then 150, then 220 grit,. I'm not going to use Weld-On, to install the windows but rather |
Epoxy/flox/cabosil, and a procedure documented on a thread on Matronics RV-10 list by Dave McNeil. So I needed to make a |
bunch of alum "fingers" that will hold the window in place while curing. I used some fine-line tape totape off the edges and then |
applied 4 coats of the peelable window mask to both the inside and outside. I test fit the Left window using the "fingers" and it |
looks like it should be pretty easy to install vs the hurry-up job that is required w/ Weld-on. I'm also going to cover the seams |
between the window and cabin cover with some fiberglass strips cut on the bias, This is suposed to insure that no cracks appear |
around the window several months after paint. Many builders have reported this happening. |
