Finished off drilling and installing the pin blocks on the Right door frame, It's a little snug, but the doors and hardware will come |
on and off again at least 1 or 2 more times, and I'll buff the latch pins a little more at that time. The on to installing the gas Struts |
for both doors. Initially I thought I had a big problem in that I may have placed the strut attach bracket too far outboard and it |
caused the brackets on the other end to project a little beyond the window frame. Also there appeared to be some interference |
between the gas strut and the inside of the door itself near the uppere attach point when the door was closed. I reversed the gas |
strut from the pic in the plans, and sanded off on a diagonal the part of the bracket that projected outboard too far, and it |
appears that it's going to work fine. I still have a little interference at the top of the inside doors where the gas strut rubs against |
the door near the hinge recess, I believe that some carefull sanding/filing w a half round file will remove enough fiberglass |
material to eliminate the interference. |
