Started today by sanding and drilling the delrin fwd and aft pin blocks for the right door. then I needed to figure out the linkage |
between the Coss handle and the pins. I found the Van's pins, and had planned to use them, However they would have required |
some extensize modifications at the connection to the handle/latch, after experimenting with several options, and making a few |
mistakes. I decided to use the 'bullet' that Coss provided with their handles and a piece of 1/4" x 1" 6061. One of the problems is |
that the Van's latch is designed to keep both pins pararallel to each other and to their pin blocks. The Coss latch uses a rotating |
mechanism and an 'over-center' approach which requires some pivoting both at the handle and at the pin itself. I finished the |
front pin after a couple of tries, The rear pin will be the same only, inserting the 1/4"x1" control arm will be a challenge. Getting |
all of this worke dout on the right door should make the left go a little easier. |
