John Ackerman, showed up to help today, and boy was it a help. John reinstalled the Right Door handles and latches, |
temporarilly installed the screws in the cabin door frame to hold it steady, and then instaled the Right door back on the Fuse. |
Meanwhile I fitted the linkage for the left door. Tapped 5/16 24 the latch pins and then cut off some bolts and threaded them into |
the latch pins. before inserting the pins, I chucked them into a drill and then ran them against the sander to put a point on each, |
This point will be used to mark/scribe a 'center-point' for placing the corresponding holes in the door frame (tomorrow's task. |
Fitting the door handles is not complicated, but it take sa lot of time doing the trial and error install/removal cycle. I also had to |
remove quite a bit of fiberglass from th elower door recess, where the aft link pin linkage was interferring. I' had to do the same |
on the other door only not as much. I'll put a 'bubb;e over both of them when I get the fiberglass out in a few days. finally got the |
Left door working and the linkages the right length, and reinstalled the door back on the fuse. Should be ready to locate and |
attach the dooframe cabin pin blocks tomorrow. |
