Last day of priming/sanding on the cabin top interior and overhead console. Began this am by sanding everything with 220 grit. It |
was plain that there were some spots that needed to be built back up with the body filler, so sanded away all of the primer, and |
rebuilt those few areas. identified a handful of other areas that needed some patching. then sprayed another 3 coats of UV |
smooth prime on (only this time LIGHTER coats). then finished off everything with a final sanding fo 330 grit. I'm pretty happy |
with how it turned out. when the primer is wet, you can still see some 'waves' in a few of the places. So it could be better, butt |
considering that 90% of this will be covered by a fabric headliner. I think that it will do nicely. Now Tomorrows task is to fabricate |
some fiberglass window retainer rings that I'll wrap with headliner and use to finish off the windows and headliner for a nice |
finished look. This Sat. is Copperstate and a bunch of RV-10 guys! Bill Derouchy is bringing his newly painted -10 over from |
Watsonville CA. Can't wait to see it & him. |
