Today I tackled the Cabin cover again. I had previously decided to leave trimming the flash of the cabin door until fitting the |
doors becasue I was uncertain as to where the scribe lines were. However when Dean S. was over he pointed out where the trim |
scribe lines were, and I decided that would be the next task. It turns out that you trim quite a bit off, particularly off of the top, |
where you trim the curve to where it's nearly flat with the top of the door frame leaving only enough to carry any water away, and |
on the bottom, it's basically the same, I left significantly more of the flange on the fore and aft sides of the door, as that's where |
the trim lines indicated. The inside of the cabin is UGLY and ROUGH, I started the process of smoothing, filing, sanding on one |
of the posts, its clear that there is going to be several hours of plain old elbow grease to get the inside of the cabin top to a point |
that its' cosmetically acceptable. Even though much of it will get covered with headliner the boundaries and frame need to be |
preped so they can be finished in final paint. I figure a good 2-3 more days with the files and sandpaper before proceeding back |
to final fit and match drill to fuse. |
