| continued wit hthe instrument panel mounting. Finished off the pilots side area where I had to make new flange and strengthen, |
| and fill and sand and trim to final size.. Increased the standoffs on the co-pilot side to 1/2 ", works better than the 1/4". Then |
| positioned and mounted nutplates to the mounting bracket, and drilled and countersunk the panel flanges. All of these screws |
| will be covered by the carbon fiber / alum inserts which will be mounted in the corners of the cutout areas. A lot of back and forth |
| with the fitting, I made some standoff brackets out of some 1/2" alum strap for the outboard sides. I got some speed nuts @ Ace, |
| but they are too flimsy, I'll try to pick up some Tinnerman nuts tomorow and try them. The whole thing is remarkably solid. I still |
| nedd to figure out how to attach the bottom corners to the fuse sides/longerons. I'm going to sttrengthen the bottom of the panel |
| by glassing in a foam core stiffener, that will span from the outboard edges to the center stack, I'll probably do the bottom of the |
| center stack as well, but will wait til I've figured out the center console and how to tie the tow together. |
