Began the fuel system today. A LOT of head scratching and noodeling and not a lot of labor. I'm using the Andair valve from |
Van's. contrary to other builders reports I want to mount it to the top of the tunnel. I did some measurements and it should (?) be |
possible to get the scat tube through if the lines can be bent properly. We'll see..... I took some time to match the valve to the |
tunnel cover. I intend to make a fiberglass console that goes on top of all of this, but I want the fuel valve in the same place |
regardless. So began by figuring out a mount for the Andair. I sued a couple pieces of alum angle, and part of a rear spar from a |
bad wing piece from Van's. Got this matched to the tunnel cover, then bagan the bending of the fuel lines. There's no way to get |
it all threaded through the tunnel in one piece so I cut the line after it exits the tunnel towards the wing, and will put a coupling |
about mid-way outboard. LOTS of trial and error , and it's not all that easy to reach in and over the fuse sides for a fat ol' man! |
I've pretty much got the left and right feed lines bent and semi installed. Tomorrow I'll work on connectin git to the filter and pump |
and then plumbing to the firewall. I don't have my Flo-Scan yet. so that will be something to come back on. |
