Shifted focus to day and worked on the brakes, but befor doing so, I built a Rick Sked dolly for the Fuse, the old EAA bench that |
I was using was just to high, especially for a shorty like me. with a lot of the work after Sec 29 being installation of systems, it |
seemed appropriate to lower the working platform some what. Next, I followed Mike Howes approach and installed the Matco |
parking brake, http://www.etigerrr.com/Fuselage/section_36_brakelines.htm Drilled off the old attach plate, cut off the flange, |
reattached it (basically to plug the holes and stiffen the firewall. Then used the spare F1048 primer bracket and fashioned a |
mount out of it, match drilled it to the Fuse, dimpled firewall, installed AN3 nutplates to hold the Matco valve, primed the bracket, |
then riveted the assembly to the firewall. I needed to make a run to AERO ZONA for some straight AN fittings to replace the |
angeld ones, and then proceeded to bend the Al tubing. I found another mistake, I installed the nutplates to hold the clamps for |
the brake line son the WRONG side of the ribs, I thought about drilling them off and switching them, but the dimples are already |
there and it would be ugly, i experimented and found that by using a couple of washers on the #8 screws I could install the |
clamps and get a gutenteit fit with them on this side (WHEW!). There is another section of brake line that rins from the fwd ribs |
out to the landing gear and exist the bottom skin, but I need to wait until th egear is installed before that, it looks pretty simple |
