Finished riveting the right Fwd fuse rib, nutplates, and the WD-1004, It turns out that the Plans call for the mfg rivet head to be |
on the INSIDE, which eliminates the problem I was having, it also makes it MUCH easier to buck these rivets. Unfortunately, this |
was oointed out to me AFTER I drilled and reriveted 75% of the rivets in this piece, I guess I'm going to have to slow down a bit, |
which oddly enough should spedd thing up, since I've spent soooo much time in rework. The proceeded to rivet the Ribs and the |
stiffeners to the firewall, I backriveted these, but had a real problem with the rivets that rivet the WD1004 to the firewall, they just |
wouldn't set flush, even after drilling out several times, I ended up bucking them w/ the flush set and got them set flush. But I |
think i drilled and reriveted each rivet 3 times!!!! In doing the right rib, I found out the reason, the whole rib assembly was |
interferring with the F1001C stiffener/brace, Apparently this also happened on the other side and caused the firewall to take a |
slight bend in this area. On the right side, i trimmed/filed the parts that were conflicting, and the riveting went MUCH easier w/ |
just the back rivet approach. |
