The LED Nav lights and strob and the power supplys all arrived today so I decided I'd have a change from the fuse bottom skins |
and install the lights. I ended up spending a LOT of time and only got the Right set of lights installed, I sent Jeff a template of the |
wing tips, and the mirrored plates were close, but they required some trimming, Jeff said to install the strobe 1st, wihch is pretty |
straight forward, and I did just that, but when I went to install the LED Nav lites and their associated mirrored plate, the top of the |
plate projected way too far above the rim of the wing tip, After some noodling, I decided to take the Strob plat off and the work on |
the NAV lite portion, I had to move it down as far as possible, in order to get enough clearance on the top, and that required |
trimming material from both the mirrored plexi and the alum backing plate, I also had to bevel the plexi to get it to clear the lens |
when th elens is mounted, The disc sander and the scotchbrite wheel worked fine on reducing/shaping the surfaces. Then I |
trimmed the strobe mirror so that it butted up to the NAV LED. All in all it wasn't difficult, I was just a bit nervous about messing |
up the wingtips and the lens. Now That I know what to do, the LEFT should go much faster. |
