Initial Layout of the Panel - 6/2/2005
This is the preliminary work done in laying out the panel. I used
full-size printouts, and taped them donwn on the panel to try to get
the locations right. This allowed me to measure rib clearances
and other items, to ensure I'd have adequate clearance everywhere for
the panel. I originally wanted 3-1/8" instruments under the
Cheltons, but they just won't fit without some serious changes to the
lower panel....like removing screws and stuff. In the end, I went
with 2-1/4" holes, and they look great and are a perfect fit. You
sacrifice being able to use a 2 armed altimeter, and your ASI is
generally not scaled, but oh well.
