RV-10 Performance Log
This page has been thrown together
to not only include some of my own performance numbers that I'm seeing
on my RV-10, but others from other people as well. I'll separate
performance numbers by builder, so if you have any to send me, just
email what you have and I can put them here. Ideally the page
will grow for a while as the numbers come in and we get a few various
aircraft on the list, but eventually it will become more of a reference
for builders as they decide on how to run their engines, which prop to
buy, or that new builder wants to know how theirs is measuring up.
I'll include a little detail on the airplane above each builder's
section. Hopefully this will have more than just my stuff
soon....encourage any other -10 builders to participate.
Tim Olson - #40170 - N104CD
Engine: 260HP IO-540 Prop: Hartzell Blended Empty Wt. 1685 lbs.
My performance numbers will probably be on the lower end, as I
*only* have a 260 HP IO-540, and I fly fairly conservatively with my
engine. You will probably notice the numbers get better as you go
down the chart. Early on, I was way too easy on the engine.
12/3/2006 update: After finally
flying the "box" back in August/Sept. and doing airspeed
calibrations in cruise. I used 2 different tools on
Kevin Horton's site
to verify my True Airspeed, and found that at 146kts TAS, I was
indicating in TAS about 6.5-7.5kts low. I've corrected this with
new-style Cleaveland Static Ports and now have a fairly consistent
1-2kt LOW error. So I've updated the old numbers on this page to
reflect "corrected" numbers, and newer numbers should be much more
accurate.
